18 years ago today I began my career at an automotive dealership pulling out vehicles for the service department.
Fast forward now I am in charge of a GM Parts department. No joke my friends.
How long have you all been in the show?

25 years at THIS store as of yesterday. Total of 30 years of my life (1st 5 years was at 2 Toyota stores, each was a 2.5 years tour).

Sure wish I had all the wasted time stuck on the phone with Partech and SPAC back, and the time trying to make RIM work....I could be young again!

Just rolled past my 22nd year last month...all at the same dealer. Started in Parts, wrote service for about 4 years, went back to Parts in 2001 as a manager and have been there since. Oh yeah, spent about 4 months as the Body Shop Manager, WHILE holding the Parts Manager position as well. Those were not the best 4 months of my career at all :?

Worked for Nationwise Auto Parts for 3 years before hitting the dealer scene.

I started in the business in 1975 driving the parts truck for a Cadillac dealer. Eventually wound up being the Parts Mgr at a Chevy store for 30 years, until we lost the franchise when GM went bankrupt and we bailed them out with my tax dollars. I am currently at another Chevy store and through the years have seen so many changes It can make my head spin, and most of them were not for the better.

1970 on the used car lot. Went into parts in 1972 after high school. I have worked for the same dealer my whole career, at different franchises, but the same owners. Management since 1980. The chronology: GM (Toyota, Volvo, AMC/Jeep/Renault) , NAPA, GM (Toyota), Chrysler (Dodge, Jeep, Plymouth, Nissan), GM (Toyota). May even retire someday.....
