Selling on Ebay

Selling on Ebay

Postby LOWAIRD1964 » Tue Apr 05, 2016 3:58 pm

Ok so I decided to start trying to sell some parts on ebay. What would the best way to go about selling to customers. I am scared if I bill a part out on an invoice that RIM will see all the sales and want to recommend me stocking it again. Somethings that I am listing have just been collecting dust. Some on inventory and alot off inventory. Obviously the stuff that is off the books I dont want coming back!! Any ideas on how you guys are selling would be great!

Of course, get your owner on board. But I've heard through several DMA's that GM doesn't allow Ebay sales. (I know a lot of dealers do operate ebay stores though).
You may have to sell it on a private Ebay account and THEN sell it from the dealership to yourself, less a nominal fee of course.
To avoid RIM, put an E in front of the part number when sold. Either supercede or manual adjust.

We had one setup at an a different dealership I used to work at.
All you can legally sell is takeoffs and non-returnable old stock. If you even think about selling field scrap you can lose the dealership if they find out you are doing it.
Had a paypal account linked to the account they wanted the money deposited into and sold the parts on invoiced to relieve from inventory then had the controller reconcile the funds from the transactions so everything balanced in accounting...

So if you sell with an e before the part number, then manual adjust inventory, rim will see part out of inventory anyway and might suggest it?

I think that as long as the stuff is old junk on phase-out RIM state 1,4,8 or 9, SPQ=0, then just a reduction in OH qty. wont initiate a re-stock. A SALE on the actual part number however...
