ANYONE HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THIS OR SEEN IT???MY WD SAYS THEY HAVE DRUMS FROM THEM WITH A DIFFERENT PART# ON THEM AND THAT THEY ARE FULL-SYNTHETIC ...WHY WOULD THE GENERAL DO THIS ...AAHHH NEVER MIND ..

I would say the WD is trying to fool you into buying something, Dexos is semi synthetic, not full and also we have black 0w20 dexos drums here and Mobil makes all of GM's motor oils. My bet is maybe the quaker state says dexos approved.

A month ago when the GM "guy" was here he indicated that Dexos 0w20 was in fact going to change to full synthetic. This information, if correct, would seem to verify that.

I was told when it came out that the dexos 0w20 was indeed full synthetic all along. The rep that told me also pointed out that the Mobil-1 0w20 was therefore a rip-off (or the dexos was a really good deal).

I believe him.

Looked at the Feb 2016 price sheet, and the May 2016 sheet we got today, the part# for the 0w20 drum is the same, so far.

JUST GOT THE DRUM YESTERDAY IT IS PART #88865554 OR THE SHORT # IS 10-9233 ...FULL SYNTHETIC AND IT IS CHEAPER PER 55 GAL THAN THE SEMI SYNTHETIC 88864004...IM SO CONFUSED BUT I WILL TAKING IT ...I ALSO LOOKED AT THE NEW PRICE LIST YESTERDAY AND THIS PART # IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND ....

that doesn't come up as a good number for me

If you go to acdelcodotcom and put in the 10-9233 number it comes up as:

Dexos1 0W-20 Motor Oil - 55 gal Drum
Part Number: 10-9233

If we get oil from the delco distributor sometimes the ac delco version has a different 8 digit number than the GM part number even though it has the same bottle, same label.
