Getting Reemed

Has anybody else noticed pulling parts for a regular return having RIM parts being sent back that are way older than 15 months?
I just sold a part to another dealer that was here for 25 months at cost -50% and noticed it was a RIM part that I received in 2013!
So much for being protected for 15 months...

RIM protection is reduced by the quantity sold for each part number, and that part number only has protection again if/when RIM sells you another. When I review inventories, I often see situations where a quantity of 2 is on the shelf, but only 1 has RIM protection. You may have had a similar situation, where at one time you had another part that was not RIM protected (CSO, bought from another dealer, etc.), but RIM took the protection away on that part number when you sold it, leaving you with a RIM-sold part that RIM won't take back.

I understand that DDM but there have been cases where it was a RIM part that was approved after a sale and was never sold again and it did not get sent back on a RIM return.

This drives me crazy........... I'm told if you sell a part and then the part is returned and it is in the same month RIM will protect both pieces. The one sold and the part that was ordered by RIM to replace it. If you sell a part in one month (march 25) and it is returned the next month (april 10) RIM says you should call them and MAYBE both pieces will be protected.....
WHO HAS THE TIME TO LOOK AT THESE THINGS AND WHO WILL REMEMBER THIS AFTER 15 MONTHS..........
We just have to trust GM and RIM. BULL#^#$
