GM EPC WTF

Let me begin this rant by stating I have our 3 PCs set for updates to run automatically at 9pm each night. Also, we are using ALL the equipment provided by SnapOn Business Solutions for the Gm EPC. We pay the extra $$$ per month to have a jump-drive, and have yet to receive one.
Please let me know if any of you are having these PROBLEMS with your EPC downloads:
4/14/16 8:15am- Updates show available when I checked the "Manage Updates" section, on a whim, in preparation for the scheduled update on 4/18/16 (we got the e-mail stating there would be an upgrade/update). Then proceeded to run this update, which took all day long, and was still running when I left at 8pm.
4/15/16 8:30am- I checked again, still showing Updates Available, let it run and it was done in a couple hours.
4/18/16 7:30am- Checked to see if the major update ran well, and the update must have ran well, because there were Updates Available, but they only ran a little while, maybe 30 minutes or less.
4/19/16 7:45am- Same routine, updated for 1 hour
4/20/16 7:50am- Same routine, updated all day long again
4/21/16 6:30am- Same routine, updated until between 4:30 & 6pm. I called SBS and spoke to a fella about this issue, he said it is normal. He said it is the "new normal". I asked why these updates are not running at night, he said they may have been released after 9pm. Classic 8-). He assured me we could use the EPC link through GlobalConnect, but only in Internet Explorer, because it is not compatible with Google Chrome.
4/22/16 7:50am- Same routine, updated all day
4/23/16 6:30am- Same routine, No Updates available
EVERY DAY THIS WEEK: UPDATING ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!!
I am really frustrated with this! The people at SBS seem to feel it is no big deal. My supervisor/IT/DP called them today, and someone may call him back, we shall see.
Exactly what is our money going for each month with these subscriptions?

Our updates have not been running at night. I would like to take the new EPC and toss it. I have 1 that we did not update last year and all 3 of us would rather use that 1, it is so much more user friendly, our opinion only. They say the new upgrades are supposed to help, we shall see.

Oddly enough, using it through GlobalConnect makes it seem to navigate a lot faster.

I went through the same issues about a month ago, turns out we were OUT OF SPACE ON THE SERVER!!! I specifically asked these dummies about this very issue when the switchover to the new and "improved" EPC was happening, they said it was not an issue. Now, the solution is to.....wait for it.....SELL ME A NEW FREAKING RAID SERVER to the tune of over $7900!!!! But yes, if you use the EPC over Global DisConnect, it works much better.

I have also inquired several times to SBC about the slow and frequent updates that run for DAYS to load. I have asked them if my server and PCs were fast enough and able to handle the NEW catalog. They assured me that they were and the updates will be better with the new jump drive that's coming out. The guy that told me that full of bull@#% because the updates that are causing the slowness are the QLINK that downloads at night. I asked if our internet speeds were fast enough and he said the file only takes minutes to download and the long update times are when they try to install on our equipment. I like I'm sure so many others have complained about the search function that when you type in SWITCH it brings up every bolt, bracket, nut, that attaches to a switch and some other things that have you scratching your head........Its useless and I begged for the old catalog back.................. I was also told to use the global connect version.

I don't think anything will change until more DP's and GM's start bitchin.........and then maybe the arrogant ass#$% will just say TOUGH live with it... Don't you know when you have been enhanced.

Our updates every night at 7:00 the only day we have an issue is Thursday, we have to use Global Connect on Thursday because the update runs all day and slows everything down so much you cannot use it. :(

We've been using the new EPC for about a month, only updated one of the computers. My parts manager is supposed to update the other computer this weekend, which renders it useless for at least two weeks. When the first computer was updated, the software was updated to October of 2015. Then the computer was connected to GM for updates.

I've been asking for the manager to look into the update back at Christmas, since our pricing hasn't updated since August of 15. Here we're almost halfway through 2016, and I have a computer that I can't use to look for shit on some 2015 models.

I still can't access the EPC through global connect. I'm about to give up on that idea, seeing that it's taken six months to get anything done about it.

I've spoken with the DP about it, about a month ago. He says he's looking into some things.

And we're updating the other computer to the new catalog today. Yee haw.
