Ordering brake pads (Delco)

Ordering brake pads (Delco)

Postby cain555 » Fri May 06, 2016 3:42 pm

Well- this is for ordering any part via Global Connect, but the brake pads seem to go from you have to CSO3 to get to regular CSO to not available at all. Do you just click on AWC when checking part information? Or is there a code? I just seem to be shooting in the dark hoping it will fill. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can check part availability in EPIC and see what review code (if any) is shown.

Code F is overnight only.

While my mind is on the review codes in EPIC now, is there any master list available that breaks down which code means what?

Thank Gerry Laughlin who posted this back in 2011:

CODE
CONDITION/EFFECT OF CONTROL
1 Special action required prior to processing, e.g., part number verification, use optional part number. The required action is identified using IMS T/C SHIP or T/C MSDOU03. Verified orders will process normally. Unverified orders will backorder or review, based on schedule code.
2 All customer orders will ship or backorder at the first stocking facility in the customer's chain. Exceptions to the above: Medium Duty Truck Upgrades, ISUZU Upgrades, CSO3 (Overnight) orders, PCN parts.
3 Dealer orders cancelled and answerback message generated advising them to order through an authorized ESC (Electronic Service Center). Only ESC orders will process. Exception: If dealer advises a legitimate Crash, Fire, Theft or Flood (CFTF) condition, SPAC will override the control and generate an order.
4 Limited stock is available. Dealer CSO and ACDelco VIP orders will ship. All other orders will backorder or cancel based on Special Instruction Codes (SICs)
5 Problem with part that results in URGENT REWORK or URGENT DISPOSE status assigned by Engineering Department and automatic issuance of Parts Change Notice (PCN). Orders will cancel or backorder based on SICs until PCN processing is completed then will process as specified by the PCN.
7 Limited stock is available and part number is subject to a Parts Alert condition. All dealer orders will process normally. All ACDelco orders (VIP and stock) will cancel.
8 Added to parts requiring review by the Technical Assistance Center, e.g., parts involved in reliability testing. Orders are canceled and an answerback message is generated.
9 Stop order writing because of suspect quality of a part. This control is assigned only by the Quality Systems Department, Grand Blanc.
A Verification by customer required for part numbers in specific catalog groups, large assembly part numbers, excessive order quantities, high dollar value parts, etc. Verified orders will process normally. Unverified RAPID orders will cancel for verification by customer. Unverified non RAPID orders will backorder or review based on schedule code.
* B Allows all GM Dealer orders to refer, regardless of order type. Designed to be used for parts with critical availability requirements. ACDelco, International and OEM orders are not affected.
C Part is not available to Oregon customers. Oregon customer orders will cancel. All other orders process normally.
D Assigned to specific Kelsey Hayes ABS brake parts. Orders are canceled. An answerback message is generated to instruct dealers to contact the Kelsey Hayes Technical Group for order authorization.
E Cancels dealer and ACDelco customer orders. An answerback message will advise the customer to contact either the Chevrolet or Pontiac Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for assistance.
F Limited stock is available. All domestic GM Dealer and International accounts: CSO3/VIP3 will process normally. All other types will cancel. Dealer can request SPAC to enter SPAC case, it must be approved by SPAC personnel (no inventory available for CSO3/VIP3). All ACDelco accounts: All order types will cancel.
L Identifies parts that have been licensed through Equity Management, Inc. (EMI). Orders are canceled and an answerback message is generated to advise customers to contact EMI to determine the licensee.
P Limited stock is available and part number is subject to a Parts Alert condition. Dealer orders, including CSOs, will backorder. All ACDelco orders (VIP and stock) will backorder. Control prevents both U.S. and Canada orders from writing.
R Limited stock is available. All dealer and international orders and ACDelco VIP 3 orders will process normally. All ACDelco VIP and stock orders will backorder.
T Part is an SRTA remanufactured transmission. VIP orders will process normally, however, no surcharge is applied. All other orders will process normally.
U Limited stock is available and part number is subject to a Parts Alert condition. Dealer orders, including CSOs, will backorder. All ACDelco orders (VIPs and stock) will cancel. Control prevents U.S. orders from writing.
X Restricted for International Customers. All International orders will backorder for review. The International Customer Support Team will review all RVW backorders and determine ultimate disposition.
Z Limited stock is available and part number is subject to a Parts Alert condition. Dealer orders, including CSOs, will backorder. All ACDelco orders (VIPs and stock) will cancel. Control prevents Canadian order from writing.

Also, if you go to "Parts Main Page" from the GlobalConnect home page and use the "locate part" link under Part Information and Availability--type your number in and if there's a special review code it'll actually be a hyperlink you can click on. But Gerry's list is a little more plain English.
