nosy service department people.....

i'm on reynolds, and i have a service manager who likes to play parts man. to say it bothers me is a mild understatement. any way i can shut that down?
today, one of our service writers brought over a repair order for me to order parts. he says that they are also going to put a steering i-shaft on the car. i glance down while the writer is still talking about the i-shaft, and i see no mention of the shaft on the repair order. upon my questioning, the writer says "oh, the manager looked it up, you should have it on the shelf."
i said, "fine. i'll take care of it."
is there a way in reynolds to keep service people out of knowing what i have on the shelf unless i tell them what i have?
