Almost daily I get bugged with sales calls asking for my name, (usually so they can ship you something you didn't order with your name on it)
now I just say how can I help you until they hang up.

I usually tell them to hold for the manager, and just leave them on hold until they give up. It gives me a little satisfaction the longer I waste their time.

I found out that now, most of the time, they go on your dealer's website to get the info.

Still does them no good. I use the excuse of HAVING TO buy from RIM and they usually give up right then

IF I have time, I like to keep them on the phone as long as possible! I have actually kept some on so long, their manager has told them to cut me off because I am not buying, and they need to move on.
Of course, those times are few & far between, but ever so gratifying! Some of these things, I do for me.

But what about your shop supplies? We can get you a free ******** if I open a new account. I'd like to buy lunch for your crew today. My answer... Please hold for our manager Tone, oh his first name is Dial

"can you hold please" *get up, shut office door* "Sorry about that his name is" *air horn blast into the phone*

I like that, beep beep.

As annoying as they are, sometimes days they are the highlight of my day. I can have fun with them without ever placing an order....

give them the name of Mortimer Snerd and get the phone number of the nearest IRS office and give them that number.
