Gotta love this too. We will have to let our bulk tank go down to 10% before we can add the new stuff to it. What are the odds that some dealers will run out before they get the new enhanced product.

My supplier didn't have a clue. I had to FAX the bulletin over to them so they could research it. It will be effective 7/15/2016 and the price looks like it's the same between the semi synthetic and full synthetic........for now.... On 8/1/2016 it is supposed to go up around 40 cents per gallon. I don't believe it... only a 40 cent difference??? This is just the carrot before the stick between our eyes. That price will rise before to long............

We have two 55 gallon drums as backup for when we need to run down the bulk tank. That way our switch over will be as smooth as possible.

So being that the new Dexos 1 5w30 is full synthetic can we use it in place of Mobil 1?

Apparently Mobil 1 and Dexos Gen2 are not the same. I have asked for 'spider' chart comparison and have been told they are working on it. I believe Mobil 1 will have an edge in some area(s) over new Dexos.

Like was said before 40 cents isn't going to get you to Mobil 1.

It will be interesting when (if) I hear from them. As a recent purchaser of a 2016 Impala and a long time user of Mobil 1 - I am more than a little curious. Especially now that I own a 3.6L V-6
