Autosoft gives us a set up to calculate list and trade prices from cost. The trade or wholesale prices are matching MPL but the list price is different. My thought is the insurance and warranty companies usually try to tell you that they will only pay ????/, so what is the use of a list price for them anyway. Let them pay for their own list price quotations, not charge me and then under- cut me again.

It's another in a string of bad ideas that GM seems to have given very little thought to. We are not a wholesale dealer but we do have a small body shop. We will be able to change any prices we need to without any problem. You can go into screen 2323 in Reynolds and set up your price escalation any way you want too to keep it simple.

I also have autosoft and during parts tape update it always has an option on what to mark up% if part doesn't have a list, well I have an entry and it doesn't put anything in for list on queries (for quoting over the counter, not wholesale) anyway to make list come up in queries?

I also am on ASI, and I have entries in the "alternate markup" boxes and it is not working for me neither. It looks like there is a list price on the tape for MPL parts, but it is the same as cost. I think because it sees a value for list price, that's why it isn't computing...but then on the other hand there is no trade price showing and it doesn't mark those up, so I am at a loss. The only alternative that I see at this time is to set up matrix pricing to get list prices.

For ASI, in the Parts Main Menu, go to Setup and Updates, then go to the Price Update selection. Once in there you will see the Default Tape Parameters selection, and when you open that you can change the defaults to what you want then run your price tape update. When you run a part number on your Query screen, prices according to the defaults you set will come up.

And this is what I love about this site!

Even though it's asking for the same info, for some reason it doesn't take effect when going straight through the tape update screen. I award you 5 internets, good sir!

Anyone on CDK? Without list price in there, it automatically asks for sale price. Does anyone know if you can change this prompt to ask you for list? I'm thinking if you could throw list in there, it might auto calculate the right sale price. I'm reaching here..but this is ridiculous.

This program is intended to route business to the mega-dealers.

Richard, you hit the nail on the head. GM wants all non-wholesale certified dealers out of the collision business. I have one of them next door, and I can't possibly compete. But we still have loyal customers that won't do business with them so we will muddle thru. But you're right about the Mega dealers. It already works with truckload engines. It will come to that with collision as well. If you need a grille or a mirror or tail-lamp for one of your Mom and Pop stores GM wants you to buy it from Mega-dealer and stop bothering the PDC with your petty orders
