I was just wondering if any other shop is having problems out of the 8 speed transmission in the new trucks. We have put 2 new transmission in a 2016 gmc and it is still having the same problem. The truck is revving up with out touching the gas and after putting it into gear it finally stops. First we had to order all of the parts for the bulletin but then gm told us to put a new transmission in it. I am just wondering if its our techs or if it really the transmission gm is giving us.

8L90? isn't this the one built by Ford??

Maybe I'm crazy but that does not sound like a transmission issue.

We have seen some delayed engagement issues. I think we put a different style pump and torque converter and used the new dexron HP fluid to fix it.

Probably right. I am just reporting what my tech told me and what GM told him to do. I think GM is about to send someone down to look at the truck. So I guess I get to find out if my tech is full of himself as he think he is.
