Anyone get an abnormally large recalc this morning? I have a list of 90 new proposals from "d" strata....

Thanks, Generous Motors

Here are the points that we were given regarding the quarterly restratification:

• We found an opportunity with our stratification and simulation shows this will allow RIM to manage new model parts more accurately
• We are mindful of the incremental price increase coming November 1, so while this strata change will be larger than normal, we want to put it in prior to the price increase. This will give you an opportunity to accept policies and receive material before the change is in effect.

DON'T approve the ones that drop to zero until after your weekly compliance day. If they're still in "unapproved" status they still count towards your compliance. When you approve them at zero they no longer are calculated in, decreasing your compliance percentage.

Thanks for that tidbit of information possum. I had 184 on my list, some things I just sold in September are going to zero, and some new ones are on national back order(imagine that). Gotta love that great GM feeling. I think someone needed to increase parts sales at GM to get that extra carrot available just in time for Christmas.

WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOIN???? This has nothing to do with our inventories and everything to do with GM's inventory. 245 proposals some with history going back to May and June. Almost all were 1 hit wonders and some were 09 mistakes returned by me when I received enough return reserve. I still would like to see the people signing off on this crap to stand in front of a room full of parts mngrs and justify the reasoning for stocking these parts. They can use any theory, algorithm, current inventory management program and it doesn't even have to be automotive. They can even say it comes from a crystal ball or voodoo doctor I don't care...... justify it and say its all about helping the customer and dealer. That's when I will call BULLS$%t!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if Alea could elaborate on how stuffing us with parts will " allow RIM to manage new model parts more accurately"......... makes no sense. Yikes

Many of the parts were sold in May or June. As soon as I approve them GM will drop the quantity to zero and we will be stuck with them for 15 months.
