GM PARTS LOYALTY & CORES

Our body shop is getting a steering gear that has a core value. Thinking about GM parts loyalty, what is the best move?
Add the core cost to the cost of the part (may hit the bad list because cost is out of range from GMs cost) OR
Bill the core on a new line & GM will hit me for a non-GM, bad part #?
How is the best way to not get dinged?

Cores don't affect loyalty.

So, I should bill the core out as CORE on another line/job?

If you bill out the word CORE as a part number on another line you will get dinged.
If you leave the core on the RO when you initially bill the part out it will be fine.

I guess this is where I'm confused. I am AutoMate (DMS). The core does not automatically bill on the RO when you bill the part. I must add the core value either by adding a new (non-GM) part # on another line OR add the core value into the cost of the part. If you are saying that a core will not get dinged if billed automatically, can you give me an example of how it looks on the RO?
My example is part #19330565 (normally, I would make 19330565C as the core part #) & bill the core value as: $150.00 COST&LIST&PRICE

Sorry, I'm not familiar with automate. Maybe someone else that is on it can chime in.
I'm on ADP and it asks if the part has a core charge when it is billed out.
The core is not on a separate line.

Is the steering gear not able to be returned to GM for the core? If it is going back for a return, there is no need to worry because you will be taking the core off of the ticket before it gets closed out.

We have Automate. Our bodyshop core process when billing. Use the GM part number followed by the "C" when the core gets returned I remove the core from the repair order. If the part does not get returned I would rather have it charged out and collect the money than worry about getting "dinged"

The housing on the gear is broken. I am assuming this is a bad core & no GM credit, so my plan is to bill the insurance company the core.
