Currently looking at the NRP pricing and I am wondering how other are splitting up the costs to meet these price points? I would like to know what the oil filter and oil are being sold for. What is the labor
charge and how much time is being flagged to the tech?

As the oil filters and quantity of oil is not the same for every car. In parts we bill out the parts as required and then the service advisors adjust the labor to come to the end total they need. Sometimes they make more sometimes Parts makes more.

Anyone out there willing to give there input on how you are breaking this down between parts and service profits. Right now my store seems to be in the hole on the labor side and we make a little on the parts end. Any input would be great. Thanks

On the parts side we are $5.00 for the filter and $4.00 per quart of oil. So labor on the 6 qt lof is 20.95 and on the 8 qt lof they get 22.95.

We do the same as you. Service actually makes a little on the warranty oil changes due to LOF techs being hourly instead of commission. Can complete LOF and rotation within 30 minutes. They have it down to a science pretty much.

Does anyone do a coupon to get to the $50 oil change? Like 2/3rd service 1/3rd parts. something like that?? Someone told me once that is how they did it, trying to figure out what the best way for us would be? Splitting into the 3rd s may get confusing vs having a set price for everything. Let me know your thoughts thanks

We are doing 10% over cost on parts and then the advisor changes the labor to meet the selling price. Our techs get .7 to rotate and do the oil service.
