Ok so we needed a steering wheel switch that was on b/o. GM sent the whole steering wheel. What I don't understand is GM bills me for the wheel we submit on ticket. GM pays warranty claim. Then I receive a credit on my statement for the diff between the switch and the wheel of $137.19 But now we have to go back in and resubmit or adjust the repair order? Adjustments not done in 15 days then will be done by the WSC? What are we resubmitting for? The credit? I just don't get it, could anyone explain this process please! Thank you

As far as I know that's how it has always worked. You bill the part # you need and that's what they bill you for. It could have changed though.

If you go into global connect home page and type in up assembly in the search field it will give you a document that came out in April on how to handle/submit on global connect.

Yes that is correct, the new document doesn't make any sense. I don't understand what we have to adjust warranty wise. I was billed for the part, claimed it under warranty. GM paid it and then GM sent me a credit on our parts statement for the difference. So they already credited me the diff. Just curious why we have to resubmit to warranty???

better yet .... We needed a steering wheel BEZEL and after I upgraded to SPAC and SEVERAL WEEKS later, they had the vendor send us a complete steering wheel and billed us for the BEZEL. We installed the bezel, submitted part number for bezel under warranty, and AFAIK were PAID for the bezel. Why would we futz with another warranty claim submission ?? :geek:

What doesn't make sense is GM's procedure, it's double the work. They made the rules, we just play by them.
Remember that you have to charge out the "up assy" on the original RO.

Per GM:
Transaction Adjustment After CCA Credit:
GM Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) performs adjustments every two
weeks for alternate parts/up assemblies sent (customer pay and warranty),
crediting the dealership’s Open Account the difference between original
ordered part and part shipped if greater than $10. The credit will appear on
the dealership’s part invoice summary and will reference the part number
ordered, part number shipped and SPAC case number.

When a credit is issued to the dealer on a warranty repair, the dealer must go
into Global Warranty Management (GWM) and adjust the transaction within
15 days. Adjustments not processed by the dealer will be adjusted by the WSC.

yeah .. yeah ... whatever reindeer games the manufacturer wants us to play. I don't have time for it and as long as my inventory is whole (charged for what we charged out on the RO), I don't think there's gonna be any other warranty claims submitted or edited within 15 days ... yada, yada, yada

Check out article # GCUS-9-3701 in Global. It has a *vague* description there, but has a PDF attachment that explains the process in a little more detail. I guess it would be too much to ask for the General to just give us straight answers.... :?
