Not being the Parts manager, you don't have much say or pull with the Owner.

I would be looking around, but what are your employment options in the area? And what are the trade-offs?

bentwrench - How is your relationship with the parts manager? Have you discussed this with him or her? You are better off taking this to the GM/owner as a unified parts department front. Otherwise, the writing is on the wall, and it's time to move on.

Best of luck in your continued endeavors !!

DUDE !! Keep your head level for now. The opportunity will come when you least expect it. Pursue and be happy ... the grass is MOST OFTEN greener with new opportunities. Nurture your relationship with the parts manager because you will be friends for life !!

Sounds like the service manager will be gone eventually, it depends on how patient the ownership is. They see the numbers, it's a matter of seeing the real problem versus whatever excuses they are told and finally pulling the trigger.

Started parts in 1986 the Parts Manager and I were best friends, because of him and what he taught me I was a parts manager for 10 years ( until the morons at Chrysler pulled our franchise) Sadly cancer took him last year.
