I saw a Pontiac gmc store using one of these to scan his stock order this morning and asked him about it. He found it in their tool room and decided to see what it was. They are on Reynolds and he is using it to scan his stock and bins labels. I asked him about software and he said it worked after he plugged it into a usb port. I saw him use it. It updates his inv and seeme sto work well.

"This tool was shipped to certain dealers as a campaign/recall tool on Pontiac Vibes. The bar code scanner is used to identify passenger side SIR modules to determine if the module is defective when compared to a master module database provided by the module supplier."

I think they since threw out that database and have to replace ALL of the airbags.

That's correct, one of my friends at another dealer is using his to scan his parts in.
