Anyone else's dealerships slow???

Anyone else's dealerships slow???

Postby Bearster18 » Mon Jun 26, 2017 2:07 pm

We've been on the decline for a couple or so months now. My Ford and Chrysler dealerships are feeling it too. I talk with my Tire rep and Accessory rep to which their replies are always " Everyone is slow". Anyone else experiencing this? It's kind of concerning. My rival Chevy dealer across town has had one record month this year and the rest have been in the hole.

It has been the same way here. There is no predicting this business like there was 30 yrs ago or so. Always knew when the slow times were. We have been through this before and I am sure it will happen again.

We've been slow for a long time. Couple busy spurts, but business is down.

It isnt just this industry. Everything around here is slow.

Same here honestly. I have a couple wholesale shops that always are booming but almost everyone else is down. A couple have told me they are in 10- year lows and having to go to banks to make monthly bills. It's concerning and hoping it picks up before long!

We have been slow all this year however May business picked up slightly and so far June has been pretty good. I just hope it continues to improve as the past 2 month we have been on the right track. This business is always changing and we never know or can predict what tomorrow will bring.

All of our vendors are complaining about treading water, and have been for a few months. We have seen some who have not been by in a year or more, now desparate to drum up "lost souls" from the dregs. We have been steadily slowing, but not entirely to a crawl. I think we will, though, because everyone else has seen a decline at the independent facilities in our area.

GM told dealers last fall to predict flat growth when looking into the crystal ball for 2017, as they stated the unprecedented growth cannot sustain itself. I predicated a modest 5% growth, and I'm right on it. Upper management decided to go with 12% growth and it just hasn't happened.

We've been slow all year minus May. May we posted near record numbers. Parts has been relatively steady, but the service department is extremely slow.

January was the best month our department had in the 5 years I have been here. Every other month has been average or below average.
My first 3 years had a profit growth average of 4%. Last year down 8% and not looking like I'll get back to ground level this year unless something dramatically changes quick! :(
