ReyRey SPG

We've had this program for over 10 years and never really gotten it off the ground. We've set it up, tried for a few months, then given up because of all the errors. Our Service Advisors DO use the estimating, but we never integrated the techs or parts mapping, because nobody can figure out all the programming. With our upcoming integration to Advanced Service (their next time-consuming "solution" to efficiency) we have tried again to get this going.
I have never seen such a colossal challenge in all my dealership experience! ReyRey is putting all of this on us with laughable phone-in training and no hands-on support. It's like learning Russian just so you can work this Service Price Guide. I would rather switch to another DMS and start from scratch!

Any thoughts? Anyone using this fully integrated as designed? If so I'd like to pick your brain for work-flow questions

We are in the same boat possum. Our advisors use it for estimating and that's it. Too many errors. Full integration with mapping? No way.

Come on folks, my ReyRey rep said that 90% of their customers have SPG.

Do that many of you really not use it at all?

Possum, we use it where I am. I would say it Is fully implemented. 3753 brings it up, my issues with it are that there are errors with part numbers especially when either a writer or a parts person enters the wrong info, such as steel wheels for a brake job. For the most part it works. If the writers use it properly they can enter oil changes when selling them and a pick list prints in parts and the parts people can pull and have the filter pulled and ready for the tech. In my opinion, if used properly it can be a time saver, but remember the old saying GIGO (garbage in garbage out).. Any help you need just ask, I don't use it all that much but I can try to help you..

if the writer pulls the wron option (say 8 speed or 6 speed trans) things can get all messed up. We use it for labor times

We have it, but we don't use it. I think most dealers on R&R have it but don't use it

I've always thought that it was a pretty expensive addon. We looked into it once several years ago when we were on Reynolds and couldn't justify the huge expense it carried.

I doubt most dealers have it unless the pricing structure went way down for it and I don't see that happening

For the longest time nobody here knew we had it. It wasn't until those overpriced "consultants" came in and showed it to the GM that we realized we have had it the whole time.

They "bundled" it with other hardware upgrades, or Ignite or stuff for Sales like "Desking" or "EDM" in F&I or DocView or a new server or who knows something else. Now our DP wants us to use it cause we've been paying for it since 2003, and it's required for the next upgrade, "Advanced Service", which just so happens to also require 100% Ignite in Parts. After that, we're getting their fancy $100k ReyPhone system which uses caller ID to instantly load their VIN, and cust. info like Domino's knows your address when you call. We just installed their ReyPay integrated credit card system too, which is another clusterf for another day. We spend so much money with them it's a crime, so they got us by the shorts.

15 years ago they "bundled" barcode scanners in for Parts and we've never even seen them.
