How does everyone else get their people hazmat certified?
I'm looking for a free option if available, as my certification expires today and I was told by my PM that the department will not pay for another since we never used it.

We do ours through our local dealer network. I believe it is through hazmatschool[dot]com. It is around $200 and good for 3 years.

Curious, if you never used it and company won't pay for it, why bother?

I was under the impression that we were required to be hazmat certified. I'm speaking with the owner about it after work, as there's a couple other things I need to bring to his attention.

"Theoretically" yes, but I've never been asked to see my certification, and never needed it either.

We have used HazmatU online and also KPA for the required GM hazardous material training. KPA is a consulting firm out of Colorado that we use for compliance here at the dealership.

Everything is cool until one of those things pop during shipment, and you're not certified, then whomever shipped it and the dealership is at the mercy of the Transportation Dept. , so I think I read somewheres before //fines /// prison///

At least one person in the dealership must be certified if you are shipping/receiving hazardous materials.

Before this year we used HazmatU at a cost of $209.00 per business for a 3yr cert. period. This year as a Chrysler dealer everyone listed in the Parts dept has to be certified, even Parts/Service directors. We are now being charged by FCA. GM also requires certification but not everyone has to be certified, but I would recommend certification.
