I'm looking for cutting edge pay plans for parts advisors, something outside the norm of salary plus commission or straight commission, any new ideas please share.

One idea you might consider. A pay plan for the advisors on your technician counter. Pay them based on the productivity of the shop. Much like techs, a fixed dollar amount for each hour the shop produces. Maybe even a bonus at predetermined levels. e.g. An additional 50 cents for each hour over 1000.

If you consider that there is an average ratio of labor sales to parts sales, you can see that it could motivate your advisors to help facilitate a productive shop. Keep those techs from hanging around the back counter. If labor hours increase, parts sales will increase.


In addition, a pay plan based on shop productivity will also help foster an evironment of teamwork.
