Do you all affix the label to EVERY inflator box or just shrink wrap a pallet and place one on the outside? Thanks... fun times.

We affix label after shrink wrap. Have had no problems.

We're Toyota but I called Takata about a month ago to ask for some new labels because I was running low and they told me that they were no longer necessary and to just use the one they send with the BOL to put on the pallet

We've already sent back a pallet of 200. Now we have nearly 100 stacked up again. I don't see us getting enough for another full pallet's worth.

What would be the best move to get the rest out of the department?

I have a boatload of these stupid things here, but no clear idea about the return process. Who do I contact? Are we supposed to go by the sheets in the box? And, is it just this particular inflator, or are ALL of the airbag and inflator recall parts involved. I'm anxious to get the damn things out of my life!

Rocko! If you are GM call Chris Gomez at 210-250-5079. You can palletize them all and slap one label to it that he supplies.

I'm in a Mopar shop, but we just got an updated Takata recall guidelines memo on the 26th. We don't have to pile up 200 anymore (I got this memo just as I completed my second pallet of 200 since i took over last year...), we can send them back whenever we see fit, but any return with more than 8 bags must be on a pallet. We can mix and match #s as long as they are all Takata recalls, and when we call for pick up, they ask for a count of how many driver and how many passenger bags are in the return. They don't ask us about individual part numbers. I call it in, they send me the BOL, hazmat label, and address label. I shrinkwrap the mess, and slap my tags on it.
I don't know if this process is different for various manufacturers, but my contact number for arranging pickup is 888-708-5712. FCA uses XPO logistics for their pickups. Your mileage may vary.....
Hope this helps someone out there, these damn things take up way too much space!
