Headlamp price change

Headlamp price change

Postby camaroman » Wed Apr 11, 2018 12:09 pm

So we order a headlamp for 2017 Silverado (84181564) cost $672.00, we price match ins. est. for $956.00. Part number changes to (84356948) cost goes to $880.34. Seriously, how can you justify that kind of increase ($208.34). Part does not show up on the Conquest Program so now we lost our shorts. Gotta love it.

Be sure to watch the core prices on newer headlamps too. They change the part # and the core sometimes jumps from $50 to $125!

Had this happen here also. So now I do not quote to price match until I run them on GM to find any number changes, then I run that number for price match. So far so good doing it that way

I actually came across this issue this morning for an order with one of my body shop customers on a 2017 Silverado. LH headlamp calls for part # 84181564, which shows a current list of $1120.00 via OEConnect. Now, I see the part # is superseded by # 84356948, which has no list price available, but my dealer net jumps up. Thankfully I'm not working with an estimate that I have to price match, but it would be nice to VERIFY the list price of the new part # before I go ahead and order.

Is there any way to check current GM list prices on body shop part #'s other than through OEConnect and D2D Link? I am not a RIM dealer, and we use Autosoft for our parts/service invoicing and inventory software.

TIA for any and all suggestions.

You could probably find the list price from an aftermarket supplier...God knows they have better access to pricing than we do.

It seems like every headlamp I look up, superseeds about five times.

The part number supersessions have been rather ridiculous lately

that's because they're running out of suppliers that'll put up with their sh#t ... each time they change the part number to correlate with a new supplier ....

MyPriceLink is the best way to get List pricing, you can also pull full estimates to try and up sell more parts to the bodyshops. They are also working on integration for DMS systems to pull from MyPriceLink to import list prices into your invoices so you dont have to manually do every part number.
