CDK/RIM State Code 08 Parts

Has anyone been able to accurately assess how CDK handles the State Code 08 information that RIM communicates to the DMS?

I am tired of the monthly reinstatement of useless numbers back into our system. You know, the ones that are supposed to go to a source that had to be set up when initially accepting RIM.
Most of them are either superseded, discontinued or even tires and accessories that are not even RIM eligible.

It has been conveyed to me that the parts that are reinstated in our DMS are parts that have been deleted by our DMS before RIM has monitored for at least an 18 month window.
So I set up my phase-in criteria for NS parts to at least 18 months. When RIM finds a new part 'on file' in our system, the SC is set to 09.

According to RIM analyst, parts that are being purged on RIM's side, i.e. no longer being monitored, get assigned a SC 08 status in the DMS. As I understand it, these parts are also set to AP status.
RIM is not supposed to be able to view SC 08 parts in the DMS. They will show Part not found in inventory in SPBD.

The problem I have with this process is that the state code assignment overrides DMS phase-in/out criteria making my attempt to mirror RIM ineffective.

Example:Part number 12681473 is 'added to file' on 11/28/18. Part is sold on 11/28/18. RIM sees new part 'on file', assigns a SC 09 status. Part is not recommended. Two weeks later, part number 12681473 supersedes to 12695760. I add new number to file and do an immediate PNC. I also go into RIM, Select New Proposal for Approval/Action and add 12695760, QTY 0, to RIM file. I then go to Select Individual Part Number Proposal and 'uncheck' Include in Stocking Policy. Now both numbers are on file, and PNC connected, within RIM and sale of old number is the only sale history showing. Still waiting for enough sales for a recommendation on new number.

Under this scenario, I would expect our DMS to continue to monitor the new number under an NS status for the remaining phase-in/out period. However, the stocking status of the NEW number has been changed from a SC 09 to a SC 08 and is now showing in AP status after only being in our system for one month. It is also 'not found in inventory' on RIM due to the 08 status. It will go to DELETE status next month!
Why RIM communicated to set 12695760 to SC O8 implicates RIM system in this scenario.

So on the one hand, parts are not being properly deleted, and on the other, parts are being removed from the DMS phase-in/out criteria prematurely. Even if this is tied to a PNC issue, our DMS would handle the NS part based on our predetermined setups, but it appears RIM SC assignment overrides these setups by communicating that SC 08 parts should be set to AP.

Running the GMSC Report of Parts By 1. Single State Code and selecting SC 08, an entire LOG REPORT will display ALL STATE CODE 08 PARTS, EVEN ONES THAT ARE NO LONGER ON FILE. Note: Run to terminal.
Results will be the same for any SC. My SC 08 Report listed 19,554 numbers, majority not currently on file. What is the purpose of retaining these numbers? Is this possibly what triggers the reinstatement of 'bogus' numbers?

It appears a LOG of every damn number that has ever been assigned a SC by RIM, since the program's inception, is being retained in the background.

If you run an RPG of SC 08 parts 'on file' and sort it by MNS, you will see a boatload of numbers that should have long ago deleted PERMANENTLY. Many are in NS or AP Status. Some may naturally delete, but every time I try to delete some numbers that I know should be gone, they miraculously reappear.

I don't know if we have a settings issue, or DMS/CDK can't properly decipher what RIM is communicating.

Anyone?
Thanks

Good luck. It's not your parts inventory anymore. Hasn't been since RIM took over. Sound inventory management procedures, you know, like 12 months no sale, 3 hits in 9 months, etc. no longer apply. It's useless fighting them. The General does what's good for them. They control the parts inventory, you don't. JMO
