Let's make wiring harness plastics from peanut oil!

2019 Equinox with 1100 miles.

somebody was hungry......

GM tells me I'll have new harness Monday. Lots of hoops to jump through to get it....

After the repair you should try using Honda Anti Rodent Tape part number 4019-2317. If they enjoyed it the first time the are sure to be back.

The "lubricant" used on the wiring insulation is what the little guys like - at least that is what I have been told. Used to be petroleum based, now to be environmentally safe they use bio lubes. A side effect is that the animals love the stuff. Like you we have seen new cars chewed to bits. New Caddy a couple years ago, ate 5 of 6 injector pigtails, just like yours. Have seen fuel pump wiring chewed right off the tank. Once they even chewed through the plastic fuel line.

You would think they could put something on the harnesses like they did to the coolant - some sort of bitter tasting stuff. Kinda like the vehicle owner tastes after they pay for the repair.
