NEW PASE OBJECTIVES

NEW PASE OBJECTIVES

Postby CHUCKINPARTS » Thu Apr 18, 2019 9:24 pm

I get the new percentages for the PASE objectives and I am not sure how they will affect me……. Still thinking about that. What the F#*K is a, SERVICE BDC ENABLER , other than another monthly payment to CDK. I see its going to be mandatory by the third quarter in order to get our 35% for conformance. I just don’t know what it is or what it does. I’m sure we are being enhanced and that’s what scares me.
Why do they have to keep moving the goal or lessening the pay out? We have nothing left……………..
I was told once that a goal or objective has to be first of all measureable and second it has to be attainable or it isn’t worth it. GM keeps adjusting these things where neither are true and why beat your head against the wall for the crumbs they throw out. Every time you start to figure things out and make them work to your best, GM changes the rule.....Maybe if I knew what an Enabler is it might make more sense………. Doubt it

FROM TYPING "ENABLER" INTO GOOGLE:

en·a·bler
/iˈnāblər,eˈnāblər/
noun
a person or thing that makes something possible.
"the people who run these workshops are crime enablers"

a person who encourages or enables negative or self-destructive behavior in another.
"being an enabler to an addict does more harm than good"

On another note, today I noticed a DFOAB form where another dealer posted the fee for his enabler service went from I believe $399 a month when they cancelled a few months ago to $699 month now because GM requires it.

We are a small dealer and if you add the OSS compliance software to the Enabler software - on average - we would only see a couple hundred dollars "profit" for participation. It isn't worth it.

We have reached the point where participation in the program is costing more than the POTENTIAL program benefit. However, keep in mind that the larger store still can benefit from a program such as this. Makes one wonder...

Did anyone else watch the Buick / GMC dealer profitability broadcast today? Interesting, even though not much service / parts discussion. Average dealership expenses up 3% - average dealer profitability down 114% - most dealerships will operate in 2019 at a net loss. Industry wide problem - not a GM problem.

Most of our expense problems are a GM sourced problem.

Just what GM wants all the small dealers to go away and the mega dealers to blossom. They could not get rid of us all with their bankruptcy so now try to drive the dealer into it.

I might be wrong..BDC conformance it says certified internet dealer enrolled " OR " Service bdc enabler enrolled..We are certified internet dealer. Are we in conformance??? it says we are.

Has everyone noticed the payout percentage grid changes?

Before:
82-99.9% 10%
100-102.9 20%
103-107.9% 30%
108.111.9% 35%
112+% 40%

After:
90-94.9% 5%
95-99.9 10%
100-102.9% 20%
103.107.9% 30%
108-111.9% 40%
112+% 55%

Smaller dealers are more likely to have volatile months due to small changes have large effects. Now the minimum participation level has been raised by EIGHT full percentage points! Even then the payout is HALF of what it was.

Again, larger stores in growing markets stand a better chance to earn more $$$.

Thoughts?

I see what you're saying. I went back and looked to January's payouts and it showed the 82 - 100% getting 10% payout. yadda yadda. Now April's payout is showing the new numbers where we're only getting 5% payout.

 I don't know what to make of it. I'm just going to keep doing my thing and sell parts as best I can. As it is it looks like I'm going to be training a new parts guy again anyway.
