Received the below message today.
To all CCA Employees,
As many of you are aware, on April 23rd we launched a new SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) system at our Pontiac Redistribution Center. From that point forward, we have faced several system defects and business process issues that are preventing us from reaching the level of productivity and throughput that is needed to serve our customers. Insufficient progress has been made on our key glidepath targets, and we have run out of time to stabilize Pontiac with the new EWM system. Therefore, an enterprise decision has been made to back out of the new system and revert back to the previous system.
We are at a critical point in the year. In order to regain the health of our Warehouse and Distribution network and meet our commitment to our customers, this decision was time sensitive. Our top priority is ensuring our customers are put at the center of everything we do, and this implementation has caused our backorders and open orders to climb to an unsustainable level. This status is unacceptable, and a resolution will be put in place immediately to recover.
The implementation team is working diligently to develop a plan to ensure a strong recovery. Pontiac is expected to stabilize by the end of August and the rest of the network in the following weeks.
At CCA and GM, we live by 7 cultural behaviors that define how we think and act to get work done. Although we are forced to face these difficult decisions, when we come together as 'One Team' and treat this like it's our Family Business, we will make a full recovery and remain committed to achieving the results I know this team can achieve.
Thank you,
Tim
