2013 SILVERADO INNER DOOR HNDL

Today we had a real good customer (he's a farmer) come in with a broken inner door handle. The only we can get it is to buy the door panel $465.00 and stay loyal to rim. I knew dorman makes them, amazon has it for $65.00 for a repair kit. My question is why dont GM offer them? It's a little hard to tell a customer it only comes with the door panel and it will cost $465.00. He went napa they had one charged him $125.00. We are still installing it, however, I still lost a parts sale. I feel bad for him but, its a 2013 Silverado with a million miles on it. I would do the same thing if I were in his shoes. My next question is how can I stay loyal GM when this goes on?.I would rather be loyal to the customer not GM, after all the customer pays my salary not GM...

GM shows no loyalty for the dealer. You have to look out for your customer.
But I have seen people get the Dorman kit and a couple of months later come back and order the panel.

I filed a DFOAB issue with this same complaint. GM engineer stated there was not enough material to consistently attach the handle to, so they could not authorize a GM repair kit.

OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS WE HAVE PUT 47 HANDLE KITS ON. (YES I LOOKED AT MY HISTORY TO SEE)
THE ONLY ONE THAT CAME BACK WAS ONE THAT THE DOOR PANEL ITSELF WAS BROKEN

We also have installed the Dorman kits without issue. A few dings on our loyalty report is worth satisfying the customer, since that is what we are here for.
