GM Powertrain Rebate Help Needed

GM Powertrain Rebate Help Needed

Postby brendanw » Thu May 23, 2019 4:10 pm

Hello! I'm the parts manager at a small Chevy/Buick dealer in rural North Dakota. I have a wholesale customer that has not received several rebates applied for last fall. Have rebate submissions for two transmissions, and a set of diesel injectors.

I have called the 833-828-4831 phone number (which seems to not always even be a good phone number?) to no avail, and the chat help has got me nowhere with it. He's a little bent out of shape with me at the moment. Any suggestions as to who I can get in touch with to try and get this resolved?

Also had a set of tires we sold in November that had a $200 rebate because they were purchased with a GM credit card. Customer has been here several times a week for the last month. He FINALLY received them!! What is with GM and their rebate programs if they either don't send the rebates, or they provide ZERO help with their customer service as to rebate information??? This is getting old, FAST. If they're going to push the powertrain or tire rebates, STAND BEHIND THEM!!!

Any help Is much appreciated!!! THANK YOU

Brendan

Tried that. We get the error message of ISC_DEALER_LOOKUP_API_FAILURE on one of them, and another error that I do not have in front of me at the moment. This guy has purchased as a wholesale customer for years, and we've never had a problem with rebates until now.

I can honestly say that the people at the phone number on the website for the rebates are very helpful once you get through to them. I called quite a few times about our customers rebates. They obviously do not work for GM they were there to help. Good luck.

I see there is now a new $200 rebate offer for ISC customers that hav been "directly contacted" by GM. How do I get my powertrain wholesale customers out here in the middle of the ND prairie on this special "contact list?" Have several customers already pissed off about not getting rebates, or finally getting them after much back and forth with the rebate phone center.

Ideas?

DMA can't be old enough for a legal drink yet.. I think he would have a hard time finding his own way out of a paper bag

Sorry I am a little late to the party, but you did answer your own question. I also last fall sold multiple Powertrain to our Wholesale Dealers with the impression they would be getting a $200 dollar gift card.
The 2018 Fall Powertrain Promotion was also a Special Offer only to Customers “that were on the List”
I spoke with Jeff Walls from GM (Very Nice Guy) and he informed me that the Powertrain rebate that we offered to our customers were only available to ISC’s that have not purchased Powertrain in the last ?12 months?? My customers all had purchased powertrain from us in the past 12 months. (Loyalty and Trust) Luckily our customers reluctantly accepted that answer but with a bitter taste in their mouth with us and GM. (yes it has cost me sales in 2019!! Thanks GM)
We also talked in length about the current Stupid Consumer Rebate that GM is offering us where the customer needs to spend an additional $300 worth of powertrain related parts to be eligible for the $250 rebate that they are offering in 2019.
How are you supposed to sell an additional $300 worth of parts on a transfer case or transmission. In one example we had in February our customer religiously has done all of her maintenance on her 2010 Equinox done here, but the transmission failed at 134000 miles. What additional products can I sell her that equal $300 so she can get her rebate without gouging her? Isn’t that what why we are doing multi-point inspections?? He did agree with me on that point and would pass that information on.
Sorry I got rambling here but I and all of you could bitch about a lot of things GM is just plain WRONG on.
ps sorry about the poor sentence structures but I was busy answering the phones to customers that wanted the GM Part-no. so they could order it on AMAZON. (True story.) Don’t get me started again!!
