2019 ZR1 Wheels

Postby treedogg1992 » Thu Jun 06, 2019 3:45 pm

Customer just brought me a set of 2019 ZR1 wheels (not in OEM packaging) and they got them CHEAP. Never mounted and they look OEM. I am skeptical because they were significantly cheaper than what we could even come close to. Anyone have any ideas on how to check if OEM and if they are how someone got them so cheap?

REFER TO THE POST: STOLEN WHEELS. Possibly from this or a similar incident?

Aside from the obvious such as GM stamp, labels or casting numbers...I don't think that any of the aftermarket replica wheels have the "ZR1" cast into the wheel face like the OE's.

I see a GM stamp and it looks identical, ZR1 casting and all. They don't have any marks where they have been mounted to a vehicle on the back of front. And if you look on Ebay, they are all over the place. I wouldn't think GM would have overstock or anything on these at this point for a 2019 car.

WE HAVE A FEW OUTFITS IN TOWN THAT HAVE WHEELS THAT ARE TAGGED RECON. THEY LOOK BRAND NEW TO ME. I PURCHASED A CHROMED OUT ZR1 WHEEL FROM THEM (OE WAS NOT CHROME) NORMALLY FOR A SILVER THEY WOULD HAVE CHARGED ME $250. EACH . THE CHROMING WAS EXTRA 200
