Go to view-backorder report. Rim control numbers that have a pending status can be upgraded.
We got 76 fedex overnight packages yesterday all for stock.

Source for this info? Asking for a friend....

For those asking: Go to "View Back-order Report"; and DRO's that are still in "PENDING" status can be upgraded to CSO by selecting the DRO's then clicking "Upgrade to CSO/VIP".
It can only be done to DRO's in PENDING status.
JOES924 wrote:The upgraded DRO is then a CSO and CSO orders are no RIM protected. I also know from experience. I did the same thing for a few years in the beginning of RIM and had what I thought were RIM protected parts. I called my PDC and they explained CSO parts are not protected.
Will obsolescence protection be offered on RIM ordered parts? Is return reserve going away?
Obsolescence protection is provided for all parts RIM puts on the shelves that haven't sold in 15 months. Return Reserve is earned on RIM DRO and CSO orders as long as the dealer maintains PASE Terms status.
Scott,
The part would be protected if it was upgraded.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Question regarding RIM protection
I have a question regarding RIM protection on certain parts. When RIM generates my stock order and I have parts that have backordered at my local facilities, if I upgrade these parts to CSO so that they will refer to other facilities, is this part still under RIM protection since RIM generated the order or does it fall out of RIM protection due to being upgraded to a CSO from a DRO order?
