Can you determine the key code to a vehicle if you have the cuts?
Have a customer who bought a truck new from us six years ago. We duplicated a key at the time of purchase. He wore a key out six years later, and wanted an extra.
Look in his vehicle info (3040 in reyrey) and see that salesman typed in key code. Cool. Punch it in to d2d, and see that it's invalid. Salesman punched in wrong key code.
I have customer's info (license and registration) so I pull the key code from Global. Punch code in to d2d, compare cuts to existing key. Not even close.
Verify that existing key works in truck, plus second key that customer hid under the truck.
I cut a new key by measuring out cuts on the existing key. New key works just as well in all locks as original keys.
Can you punch cuts into a key machine and get a code?
