Quick question for you CDK users. We just had an update with CDK (not sure if you all did too). Anyway when I go into drive function PO to download my order or create an order for GM it freezes at the screen where it asks you do you want to manually order these part(s) meaning these parts are not in my system yet so I would hit Y or N and manually input the source etc etc. well that's where it freezes I hit Y for yes and nothing. So after chatting with CDK they tell me its on their end but to put the order through the DMS connection function well I did that today with the first download answerback came back looked fine, did it for the second download with a different order or control number and its all the same parts from the earlier order. Am I doing something wrong? Are any of you having this problem are have had this problem? Any help as usual id much appreciated thanks again.

I use CDK, but I don't use PO to create orders I use IRE. I find it works better for me.

Go to Service Connect in Fast Lane. At the top type in IRE and the search button.

Plenty to read.
I used IRE also.
I have to admit it was a bit strange at first but it works well and way better than PO. PO isn't really designed for replenishment orders. Assuming your sources are set up correctly it will do what you want. I am not GM but do have a manufacture controlled inventory program.
If you can believe it, it's worse than RIM.

I use the PO function for our orders, but have never run into that problem.

I DO ALSO USE CDK . WE HAD THE UPDATE/FUCKUP DONE A MONTH AGO.

WHERE DO I START WITH THE ISSUES?

PS - THE DATE DOES NOT COME UP IN THE CORRECT SPOT UNLESS YOU TYPE IN 12AUG19 FIRST(USED TO BE ABLE TO CLICK ON A CALENDAR) THEY PUT IT IN THE FIELD WHERE THE PART NUMBER GOES. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE THERE. I ASKED HOW TO USE IT THEN. THEY COULD NOT SHOW ME. DAMN PACKY SUPPORT PEOPLE.

PO- YES IT FREEZES AT OK PROMP IF I HAVE MORE THAN 1 PAGE. THE ADD PART QUESTION FREEZES AFTER I HIT OKAY.


MY CASE # 128701679 IF IT HELPS I OPENED IT ON 7/11/19 STILL NO FIX.

Regarding PS: This a sales function that most Parts Managers use incorrectly. If you are using it for adjustments begin using DS as history can be affected by PS.

Regarding PO: This function was made obsolete a decade ago by IRE. IRE is faster, more flexible, and gives more options.

FIXED MANAGER.


I JUST STARTED USING PO ABOUT 9 YEARS AGO.

CDK SUCKS

THE OLD UCS WAS THE BEST, THEN THEY CHANGED IT And it sucked before we changed to CDK and then I left that dealer.

The problem is that CDK has to many functions that do the same.

I wish I had a salesman/trainer from CDK that would stop by once a year instead of I have seen him 3 times in the past 9 years.

Hey Fixed Manager,
send me the 20 popular apps you use in CDK as a Parts Manager.

I am computer savy but no one has really shown me what apps are the best to use.
I do use IRE but only to order my parts that I am ordering by Source(no Rim stock parts)
