GM Rewards Points Returns

Dealing with a couple scenarios where the customer used their rewards for accessories purchases but now they want to return the parts because they are not happy with them.

How have you dealt with this in regards to the points?

I'm pretty sure once the voucher has been used and applied to the invoice once the credit is issued from rewards they cannot be refunded.

I should be ok with returning the parts to my ADI to get full credit on the part.

Just not sure how to get the customer their points returned to them if their is a way?

I'm sure GM credited you back already for these so it's a wash and you might as well look at it now as just a cash sale. Give the customer a check like they returned any other part.

The points are long gone now.

You could either do that or give them a store credit for something else if you think they might be doing it just to get the cash out of it.

That is what I was thinking too Zep. Just another situation to add to the reason I say "If it was easy everyone would do it" at least 10 times a day now

I tell the customers that all sales are final. Once the points are redeemed they are not refundable. I only had 1 customer return anything, and it was because it was actually an incorrect part that my counterperson looked up incorrectly. We just swapped it out for the customer.

Because the dealer actually pays for the reward points, I would give them a "in store credit"that has to be used within 30 days.
If the parts cost $94. and they use there $100. voucher they don't get the $6. back. So why give them cash? seems like someone in the intercity can just turn there reward points in to cash everytime they buy and return. They do this at the big box stores(Home Depot,Lowes ........)
