Preparing For The Storm!

Preparing For The Storm!

Postby Kaju65 » Tue Sep 17, 2019 3:13 pm

I thought we could list some tips for each other on how to weather this new GM storm that's come upon us. Right now I'm stocking up on filters. Does anyone have any other helpful tips?

I plan on retiring in 6 months. I turned 63 last Friday, now I wish I would have made that my last day!

I was smart, last month I put in a large QPO order of our top 6 air oil and cabin filters. I'm sitting pretty right now.... Hopefully this is over quickly and things can get back to normal (FUBAR). Good luck to everyone

We will do what we can, but, this is GM's problem and if I have to use aftermarket I will on CP. We will be transparent about that to the customers. I would think we just have to ignore the GM programs including RIM and PASE.

I'm going to put "GM on strike and couldn't supply parts" for my RIM Sameday adjustments. Let them fight me on that!!!

We are utilizing whatever means necessary. The WDs, aftermarket and other dealers willing to help out. We sold several parts to four or five dealers, before 9am yesterday. If we have it available, we will sell it. Bachman's is telling folks that parts sold during this strike are not returnable. Pretty sure in these situations, people are only getting the things needed to get vehicles off the racks. Good luck everyone!

Placed a nice size order for an engine job (warranty repair) CSO-3 Tuesday morning & I am shocked to find all the parts came overnight from my local PDC (51) via Fed-Ex. We are buying what we can from Delco Supplier for stock & customer orders. Rest from local dealers (or dealers that deliver). Searching high dollar items from D2D where dealers are selling at a discount.

Just stocked up through my WD on my fastest moving filters (PF63 and PF64) and some rotors.

They are out of PF64's now though so I may have to start CSO-3ing oil filters if this continues for the rest of the week!
