National Chain Referral

What the hell does this mean? The first part reads as if my local PDC does not have it, then it will not refer to any other PDC and just cancel, but the second sentence implies it will. So which is it? Anyone get a clear answer yet?

I had several rim parts cancel today due to new rim stocking policy, you better check that too.

The simple answer - as I understand it - is that orders will not refer through the NATIONAL chain. They will refer through your LOCAL chain, as in the PDC's that can use your dedicated carrier to provide shipping.

The more difficult answer is that if you remember we lost all discounts so the DEALERSHIPS could pay for the shipping of service lane parts OVN, whether the part was in local chain or not. Well we haven't gotten our discounts back and now we have lost - temporarily - our OVN freight. Here's hoping they turn it back on before Christmas.

Where these RIM orders? They said that they would cancel any RIM generated orders that would put you over your approval level.... I had the same thing happen to me on Monday and yesterday

We have several customer orders just sitting as written but not shipped too. Except now we ordered a front air deflector for a Corvette yesterday CSO1, not in our local PDC, referred to 030. Guess what? Shipped FedEx OVN. But the trans lines we need to finish a job? Sitting in limbo.

It seems like inconsistency is the only thing consistent with GM.

2 ways to TRY and order.
OVN for items you need--- back orders or parts outside of your local chain will cancel and you will have to reorder. Then add spac cases and the outside pdc "in theory" should ship for free.
A lot more steps especially if you are a large store.

Normal order everything to save the above steps and only order really "hot" ones ovn.

You are going to have more SPAC cases for sure but a lot more will fill to outside of your local chain pdc.

Example is trax recall control arm bolts last week. We ordered normal added spac cases and they shipped to us fedex the next day from Reno.
Our main pdc is Cincinnati.
