Parttech getting dumber

Postby Kdiperi » Mon Dec 30, 2019 8:15 pm

Is it just me or is Part tech getting more and more ignorant to everything automotive ? Its like they have hired best buy flunkies and now have them trying to assist in GM parts issues. Just had a huge 20 minute long argument with a Part Tech " Specialist " about a 2014 GMC Sierra with a driver seat heating element not fitting . After 20 minutes of disagreements come to find out the idiot on the phone was looking at the heat blower NOT the blower element , even though i had stated heated element over a dozen times. He then gets pissy and with me and then hangs up on me when i said it again NOT the blower im having an issue with the heating element ?!?!

It must be the same person I talked with and argued with about an issue. It been sometime ago, but to answer your question. It is either they are to dumb to be there or they think they are smarter than we are. I figured if they gave me the access they had, I wouldn't need them, A few years ago, I was talking to a rep and we told be he knew me. It turned out that he had been working in a Volvo dealership I would order body orders from. Yea, he had no GM training, but did know his parts. I always wonder how the hell he got that job.

Create a DFOAB issue on the call and they way you were treated. Every call is recorded and they can go back and listen to it - taking action if they feel it is needed.

I did this not long ago on a Camaro key and it actually caused a recall to be issued.

speaking of the DFOAB... I was trying to find an e-mail or contact for them a few weeks ago and could not. So I thought that I would e-mail our parts and service rep. and ask him. He replied back with what is DFOAB? Which is worse having a rep that knows nothing about the business or a partech employee? I have had many issues both ways.
