I hated DealerCrap... that being said, I know a couple of parts managers that have used it for years and have grown to like it. I didn't like the fact that if 2 counterpeople check the same part# at the sametime it will show them each a different on hand quantity... also, if you aren't careful you can accidentally kill a parts invoice and put parts back into inventory even though they may be out for delivery. It is cheaper than CDK or R&R.

It works good enough to do the job. Try and forget you were on RR our it will kill you.

I am hearing there is no built in screen for tracking dirty cores...like R&R 2222??

We switched from Reynolds to Dealer track last December so it’s been a year. The crew who came in to train us was the most incompetent bunch of idiots I’ve ever had to deal with. We were told later that they were all fired. Anyway, the “parts deposit” feature is a nightmare from hell, so much so, we scrapped the procedure all together. We noticed that our gross profit took a nose dive right after installation. I made an excel chart comparing Reynolds to Dealer Track and it was painfully obvious something is wrong. After a year on this system we did our annual physical inventory and it was FUBAR. We now have our auditor looking into this debacle and Dealer track reps are coming back to see what’s wrong. I really think two things occurred 1. We weren’t properly trained, and 2. They have something set up wrong in accounting. It lacks the intuitiveness of Reynolds and you cannot set up function keys. Drinking heavily might help.

I have R&R here at the dealership where i work. I have done several Dealertrack physicals and don't think I'd like trying to extract information like I can from R&R or CDK. Special order handling can be pretty tricky also. I really wish you could customize the physical inventory variance reports.I have never figured out how/or if you can change font size. Need a magnifying glass to read it. Cannot sort by variance value either.
As far as the lack of 2222? Yes, cores are tracked by part number with a -C added to the actual part# and are counted and handle just like new parts.

My old employer switched from R&R to Arkona (Dealer Track) and had the same thing happen. After 6 months I figured out they never set up a cost of sales account for internal parts sales on RO's during the install. So it never relieved parts inventory correctly and screwed my GP%'s. I'd check them all.

We switched from R&R going on two years ago. the worst decision was going to Dealertrack. It is not user friendly at all. Its also pretty buggy as well.

1 year on Dealer Track from Rey Rey. As others have stated, it has been a nightmare. I don't even bother calling in with issues anymore. I end up getting frustrated and hanging up on them. The system can't do the simplest of things. It is very limited and cumbersome at the same time. 3-4 steps to do what Reynolds did in 1 executable. We have 4 makes under 3 rooftops. This system can't handle it. Granted there are a few things I like about it over Reynolds. But just a few. We are actively talking about switching in the near future
