52474373 & 13579648 IS IT A SUPERSESSION OR NOT!

Postby Torgy » Sat Jun 13, 2020 3:03 pm

We order part # 52474373 and received part # 13579648. So I do the PNC in my DMS and RIM keeps trying to order me more of the 52474373, and I keep receiving 13579648. I went into RIM and took part number 52474373 off from my approved parts. Then I receive a notice for RIM that part # 52474373 does not supersede to part # 13579648, and that RIM was managing both part numbers. So I remove the PNC in my DMS and still receive 13579648 instead of the 52474373. GM is invoicing us for the 13579648, so how can this not be a supersession with RIM?
WTF is going on GM, stop messing with my inventory! :x

Message on the RIM Message Board:

52474373 & 13579648

Please be aware part 52474373 does not supersede to part 13579648. RIM is managing both parts independently. Make sure to check the status of each of these parts, confirm the parts are not superseded in your DMS, and confirm your on order/backorder/on hand quantities are reflected correctly in your system. Failure to do this may result in additional orders to be placed for unprotected excess parts. MEA

I read this in the RIM portal, so why are we receiving the 13579648 and a replacement for 52474373, if it is not a supersession?

GM says that 52474373 changes to 13579648...makes sense that RIM wouldn't.
