How Long Will It Take To Get This Part

The following is an answerback received this morning. Vehicle is in the shop and inoperative. Part too large to SPRINT. Since part is being redesigned it is likely we should wait for the new design to prevent a return / comeback of the current issue. Told customer maybe by Christmas. He said just store it all winter.

PART # 84560767 IS UNDERGOING ENGINEERING
CHANGES. ONCE STOCK IS AVAILABLE SPAC WILL PROVIDE ETA
TO YOUR DEALERSHIP. SPAC WILL PURSUE ALL POSSIBLE
OPTIONS AND UPDATE YOU WHEN MORE INFO IS AVAILABLE.

What is your guess for an ETA?

Considering I've still got a fuel pump on backorder from January... it's probably not looking good for you.

That said -- try contacting your DMA and ask him/her to authorize a GM Performance Exhaust for warranty replacement for your customer.

That is exactly what I am worried about. Very demanding customer when it comes to appearance, this has 4 chrome tips and 4 exhaust actuators. I expect it will be difficult to pack / ship without damage.

Is GM doing anything to expedite a replacement for your damaged unit?

In this particular case performance exhaust won't work. The only thing available is "axle back" muffler package. This part number exhaust has exhaust after treatment built into the pipes. It seems GM is very careful not to call these catalytic converters but that is exactly what they look like and we need them - only serviced as a complete assembly.

Front part of it is caved in where it connects to the converter. Was told they were going to try and fix it? Did not order another one. Nothing has been done so far.

Just got this on a SPAC case for a different part number:

YOUR CASE HAS BEEN ESCALATED TO KEY AREAS
WITHIN GENERAL MOTORS FOR FURTHER REVIEW TO DETERMINE
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS AND/OR AN ESTIMATED ETA. YOU WILL
RECEIVE AN UPDATE AS SOON AS FURTHER INFORMATION IS
RECEIVED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE.

Have you ever seen such BS in your life? Even by GM's standards.
"KEY AREAS WITHIN GENERAL MOTORS".
