Credit Upon Receipt?

Credit Upon Receipt?

Postby Kaju65 » Thu Sep 17, 2020 5:38 pm

I had another Parts Manager tell me about this option when doing material returns. He said by using this option I could get my credits back sooner. I've done some digging around but I can't seem to find this anywhere. Any ideas?

I email in my field scrap returns and get credit 1-2 days.

I'm already doing that but this is supposed to be for MR11 or MR01 returns.

Go from Parts Workbench to 'EPIC' application. You will see 'Credit Upon Shipment' link. Click on link, enter numeric part of return application, enter any exceptions, variances, i.e. sold, damaged, etc., then 'release' return. You will see a credit for the items that will go back to 'YOUR LOCAL PDC' the next day, usually. The CCRC portion of the return will not get credited until it is received at their end.

This essentially is used for RIM Monthly or Monthly Return Reserve returns.

I need to get my head around this. So, I enter my whole order minus any exceptions. Example, I have an order I just sent off. It had field scrap, a ccrc, H and an W. So I would enter all of them minus the one part I sold. Is that correct? Why has not someone told me about this before? What are the draw backs on doing this?

You simply enter the numerical part of the application number, minus the PDC designation, either check the box for no exceptions, or enter part the numbers you either have sold or deemed non-returnable, and submit/release return. The system will be able to identify the return in their system and issue a credit.

You still have to either email/fax your Field Scrap numbers. The Direct Ship/CCRC returns will not immediately receive credit. The H &W will process.

This does not work for cores, CSO or damaged returns.

I want to thank you all for turning me onto this. I Asked the old manager this and he had never heard of it either. I just used it yesterday and received my credits today. This forum has helped me in a number of ways and let me just say that I appreciate everyone who not only answers questions, but to those brave enough to ask them as well. It a bad world we live in and GM is squeezing all of us lemons as much as they can. It is nice to know that some of the thoughts I have is shared. Thanks again guys!
