Snap-On Catalog Price Gouging

Snap-On Catalog Price Gouging

Postby Z23T » Wed Sep 23, 2020 5:31 pm

I was wondering what other dealers are paying for Snap-On cataloging? I have 5 licenses, GM and Isuzu catalogs, and get charged $1200 per month. I was talking to a buddy of mine who is a parts manager at a Ford store, they use Snap-On, his store is the same size as mine and he pays $700 a month.

I have three licenses and no hardware from them...GM catalog only. I also get disc updates, not flash drives. $449.43/month.

I have 6 licenses of Toyota and they are quoting me 695 a month to renew on a 5 year contract and 895 on a 12 month contract.

I received a quote from Microcat for $385 for 7 licenses on a 12 month contract.

No hardware is involved in either contract.

I am tempted to switch but the demo of Microcat is so different that Snap On that I cant tell if its worse or just different. So far everything I looked up in the demo has been accurate though. $300 a month over a few years is more than plenty of reason to get used to something different.

I am a fan of MicroCat. Ask the representative for a list of stores local to you that use it and visit them.

5 GM and 5 Hyundai licenses, we pay $1154 per month. $636 GM, and $518 Hyundai, 3 year contract.
But now GM is going up 2.5% in October. I questioned the increase because of our contracted price. But I was directed to section 10.6 of our contract. Which in there states that in the event the Mfg. supplying the database info increases its charges to Snap-On, Snap _on will be entitled to increase the monthly subscription services payment to cover the additional mfg. charge.

5 licenses . GM only. I run a server but did not renew the server but still using the old one.$690. per month . no flash drive. just read my contract. they can charge a increase of 3% year over year. I guess a 5 year contract only helps them out.

I thought that Snap-On was the only approved GM parts Catalog, am I incorrect in this thinking?
