O'Reilly Auto Parts and AC Delco

O'Reilly Auto Parts and AC Delco

Postby Ichabod Farquar » Tue Oct 06, 2020 1:15 am

Actually had an O'Reilly store manager and his boss stop by the dealership today to offer us AC Delco parts and participation in Partner Perks program.

Now GM is completing not only with the dealers, but they are taking on the WD's on their own turf - not to mention Amazon.

What are they going to do when there are no dealerships and no AC Delco WD's?

I ALWAYS DEALT WITH THE LOCAL PARTS PLUS AND OREILLYS.

BOTH THERE SALESMEN SHOWED UP TO LET ME KNOW THEY HAVE ACDELCO PARTS.
I TOLD THEM I DONT DO BUSINESS WITH MY COMPETITION.

I DROPPED THEM BOTH .

I AM A NOBODY WHEN IT COMES TO AFTERMARKET PARTS. SO NO BIG DEAL TO THEM

Sent this to GM about a month or so ago.
FedEx dropped off a part by accident to us that was meant for Advanced Auto Parts. I am very curious as to why GM is selling parts directly to Advanced Auto Parts ? It is hard enough to make a buck out here and then seeing this makes me think if it is worth while ? I am also curious what type of BS response GM is going to have ? We went though this with GM selling parts on AMAZON so is the end around ?

Here was their response.......

"We do have a partnership with Advanced that is designed to help grow AC Delco’s presence in the Independent Aftermarket side of the business. Our partnership with Advanced is focused primarily on filters, with the addition of a few other lines as well. The product lines we’re selling to Advance tend to be what we find are purchased by DIY’ers and we don’t feel it will cut into our dealer’s business. There’s no benefit in us shifting business from dealers to the aftermarket so we look for product lines that can help us capture additional market share in the aftermarket/DIY space, without cutting into your business."

We sell filters too, Don't we ?

Not only do you sell them, you get special discounts that they don't get. With that special discount you get the lube free option so they fit just right. Then to better help you serve your DIY'ers they offer that special layers.
