How do you GM dealers use the ADS website? Do you use it much? Does your salesman have access and use it order accessories? Do you trust the labor times in it? Just wondering what some of you guys are doing with it.

We use the ADS site quite a bit. We get alot of orders on there unfortunately lately the system as turned into a huge cluster mess of people ordering with 2 or 3 promo codes for discounts and using award points causing accounting of these to be an absolute nightmare.

WHY DO YOU SAY THE LABOR TIMES ARE INNACURATE? DOES YOUR TECHNICIAN SAY HE CANT DO IT FOR THAT PRICE? MOST CASES THE LABOR TIMES ARE CORRECT. THERE ARE DISCLAIMERS IN THE ADS PLATFORM THAT SAYS THAT A DEALER MIGHT CHARGE DIFFERENTLY. WE TRY TO ADHERE TO THEM UNLESS ITS WAY OFF. IF IT SAYS A ROOF RACK TAKES .3 THEN IT PROBABLY ONLY TAKES 15 MINUTES. DONT LET THE TECH TAKE .5 JUST BECAUSE IT TOOK HIM .2 TO WALK OVER TO THE COUNTER AND WALK BACK TO THE VEHICLE.

Only parts department uses and orders on ads. Use it daily. Labor times are usually low. My biggest issue is now ads is letting customers redeem their vouchers online. Easy for the customer but a nightmare for accounting. Voucher credits go
to your bars account, the difference payment by card goes to MasterCard gateway.

I should not say "a lot of times are not accurate". Some of the labor times are low. Just wondering if and how everybody is handling that. We are not set up with ecommerce. We were at one time but did not make sense for us.

Are the labor times different in your labor time guide compared to the ADS page? Whomever sets up the ADS page plugs in the labor dollars, and hopefully updates it accordingly. When ADS first came out, we let our sales people make the orders but NOT send them to the ADI. They would be in "limbo" until a parts person double-checked them for accuracy against the VIN and verified any issues before placing the order through the ADI's page. Since the ADS page no longer has the fancy spinning vehicle that a customer can see accessories added to, the sales people do not even use it. We have been lucky so far, all returns have gone pretty smooth, unless my boss is involved (eyeroll, heavy sigh)

You can up your labor rate in ads settings to offset low suggested labor time.

I believe the labor times are pulled from the EPC. There is an override function in the ADS website to change labor times so you can change them. That would be an awful lot of work to make changes and monitor when new parts are added.
