Last time I returned (10 years ago) a regular flooded battery, the WPC mailed me the proper box and packaging. Check with them to see if this is still the case. Also make sure the person who prepares the packaging and signs the paperwork has current Hazmat Certification. Obvious statement but I said it.

Yes I am waiting for the return materials for one right now as well.

Make sure you call Jackie at the WPC 248-371-9900 with the transaction # and Central Transport PRO # after it is shipped.

I did one about four years ago. Thankfully I had just gotten recertified in HAZMAT to send it back!

WPC shipped a box with an absorbent diaper like mat to put battery into, and all the required paperwork.

Called Central Transport to pick it up, the driver about pissed himself laughing after I said that was why he was there.....

It was actually the most painless WPC process I've ever had.

Sorry to bring this back up. It has also been a few years since i had to put one of these in the HUGE sandwich zip lock baggie. When i did one last time GM had a paper in box showing you exactly how to ship it where to put stickers and all. No they just ship you everything and expect you to remember where and how everything goes. There is even one sheet of paper with all these different types of battery types listed and you need to cut out which one is yours. I have yet to get recert in shipping hazmat materials.

I have an AGM going back to wpc. I believe it is a UN2800 ? bUT NOT SURE

I looked through all the lastest bulletins. Does anyone have any of the old copies of instructions GM used to put with the return boxes? Or know where i can find it on Global? or can direct me to a website that shows you exactly what to do

I believe UN2800 is used for Electric Drive or Hybrid Batteries. I believe the correct answer is UN2794. Type both of those numbers into the GM Hazmat Page and you will see what i mean.

I feel really dumb now. Where is the GM hazmat page? I did a search on Global and also looked through the apps
