OPT OEM

Anyone absolutely disgusted with the current market landscape of GM parts ? Thought the issues of ACDelco being sold under dealer cost all over the place was bad but now we have a new issue . We have tried to have a successful wholesale business but here in NJ there has arose a program that is in the back pockets of CCC One system with parts labeled as OPT Oem which is delivered by a competing dealer out of state. These parts all have a manipulated GM list price which causes the CCC One collision system to default the insurance ordering to that dealer . The parts are advertised on CCC One at a pricing structure of list minus 2% . We have been loosing thousands in collision sales to this program . I have sat and met with a bunch of collision shop owners only to find out one of the key things is that these parts in CCC one ( even though delivered by another dealer ) are NOT inventoried as OEM parts and with insurance companies penalizing body shops for using OEM parts these manipulated parts fit the bill for them to purchase. Its a very frustrating and aggravating battle right now trying to meet purchase requirements , RIM requirements, PASE requirements all while battling the acdelco mess and now the collision landscape in free fall . Again i understand this may be a regional thing and may not be in your area , in NJ the few dealers i have spoken with have all been press by this .

Not fun at all. You are not alone in feeling frustrated. I have made more claims in the last few months for parts delays, old parts in boxes, damages ect. I am 61 and I am trying to get my wife to agree to my retiring at the end of the year. She is not liking that idea, have to keep working on her.

RYDELL PARTS IS WHO WE ARE ALL TALKING ABOUT. THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE OE SURPLUS . THEY PRICE MATCH THEMSELVES. THEY PRICE MATCH THERE WHOLESALE PROGRAM. WTF IS THAT? EXAMPLE IF DEALER A TELLS YOU HE WILL SELL YOU A GM PART FOR 10% OVER COST(I KNOW MORE LIKE COST) THEN DEALER B CAN USE BUMP MONEY TO PRICE MATCH.
I ASKED/TOLD MY DM (CHARLES K) ABOUT THIS AND HE SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDERS. I THINK RYDELL SHOULD NOT BEND THE RULES BECAUSE THEY BUY SO MUCH FROM gm.
JUST TO LET YOU KNOW AND MY DM SAID SO . THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A AUDIT ON BUMP MONEY. SO IF YOU CAN GET YOUR MONEY BACK FROM GM , LIE LIKE HELL. IN FACT IF YOUR ESTIMATE SAYS GM PART FULL RETAIL PRICE. BUMP IT TO GET EXTRA MONEY

We have a couple dealers in our area doing the same thing. There's a couple things to make sure that your shop knows.

1. They usually manipulate the list price but not what your shop pays. We found a lot of our customers paid less buying it normally from us! So going with the OPT they pay more and sell it for less.

2. This is a big one, anything sold as OPT OEM doesn't have any warranty through GM. Even though they are brand new parts, if they are sold as OPT OEM that cancels any warranty.
