Has any sold a Hybrid Battery for a Sierra pick truck to an outside garage/IRF?

Is this OK?

Only thing i could think of: What sort of certification does a repair shop/ technician need to service those high voltage vehicles? Does this shop have this certification? Just like selling a/c refrigerant to the gereral public... you can't unless they have the certification.

We refused the sale & they called another dealer & that dealership quoted a price.

I would sell it with no problem to a repair shop (not a retail customer). Certification is the shops responsibility. I don't ask for certification to sell aan A/C compressor or condenser so.............

But you are not allowed to sell anyone A/C refrigerant (or buy it yourself) without a certification.

Back to the Hybrid/ EV battery components. For arguments sake, where would the liability fall if the uncertified wholesale repair shop technician was injured or worse installing that Hybrid/EV part that you sold them? You are the dealer and you (being the dealer) know that your in-house technicians are required to be certified and have access to special tools to do the work.

Another aspect of the uncertified tech/ shop working on that EV/Hybrid, when they install the part incorrectly and fry it or something else, they are going to say it was defective and want you to fix their problem.

Is it worth the risk?

What's the difference in selling a standard transmission car to someone that hasn't ever used a clutch? If they are involved in an accident, would I be liable?

Autozone will sell it to them.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE CERTIFIED TO PURCHASE BATTERIES. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE CERTIFIED TO WORK ON THEM UNLESS YOU ARE DOING WARRANTY WORK. I SOLD ONE A LONG TIME AGO TO A PILOT (AIRPLANE PILOT) THAT WAS GOING TO DELIVER IT OVERSEES. THEY PAID THE CORE CHARGE AND I NEVER GOT ONE BACK. IT WASNT TO DIFFICULT TO ORDER IT JUST TOOK A FEW WEEKS TO COME IN.
