Am I the only one?

Why can't I get parts from Lansing or Willow Run within a week? Is anyone else having his level of difficulty?

LOL, I would have to say your not the only one. Terrible customer service. It all comes down to the lack of truck drivers from what I understand. What should take 3-5 days is taking 10-14 days minimum. Just more work for us making claims for parts not received in time, plus the loss of profit having to pick parts up at other dealers or paying for overnight freight.

You're not the only one. Hell, we're within an hour drive to Lansing, Willow Run, Flint, Pontiac and Ypsilanti and it's still taking 7-10 days for us to get our parts out of there.

I SERVICE THE PEOPLE AT PLANT 87 WHICH IS WHERE WE GET OUR FASCIAS AND GRILLES. IT IS 15 MILES AWAY. THE PART GOES DOWN TO CINCINNATI WHICH IS 4-5 HOURS AWAY AND THEN COMES RIGHT BACK UP. THIS PROCESS AT BEST TAKES 2 DAYS . LATELY 3-4

I just had a rear axle from a 1 ton work truck take 21 days to get from Flint to Wisconsin. Using GM tracking..   it took 10 days just to get from Flint to the MI crossdock. I don’t know what to think as to the reason for all the problems. I do know that when I try to reconcile my invoices I see parts that come in and parts that were shipped 4 days prior don’t. Even when they are coming from the same PDC. I call my local crossdock and they say they have not seen the trailer that the part is supposed to be on. I guess they throw parts on a trailer and there is no order as to how they are delivered. When people ask when they might see their part…………. We don’t have a friggen clue. People don’t understand how Amazon can get them their stuff OVN and we can’t tell them if their parts will be here in 10 to 14 days. THE MI CROSSDOCK IS A MESS!!!! With all the VSD parts we can’t even count on REEM keeping us up to date on fast movers. It sucks and it’s the worst logistical process I have seen in 45 plus years doing this shit.

Nope. Ordered a part from Lansing on 7/26; my Admin PDC told me I most likely won't be seeing it until next Wednesday 8/11!

I overnighted a second one today hoping I will get it before this Thursday. Luckily my Admin PDC is going to take the first one back without penalty due to the shipment delay.

I talked to my contact at 51, she said the same thing as most of you have heard... Sounds like whats coming out of 76, is getting loaded on a trailer, and its sitting... They dont have enough truck drivers to drive the semis out to the other warehouses/crossdock.

She told us wait at least 12 working days, but if you dont have it yet, its prolly sitting in a trailer, in the yard, waiting for a driver... its a bummer

Sounds about the same for us Canadian dealers trying to get parts out of the US. Pre strike/pre covid Our guideline to customers was 5-7 days and normally that was normally accurate. Now I simply tell them it'll show when it does...wait for the call. We look like idiots.

Doesn't help that our US shipments go to 2 Canadian PDC's before being delivered here. And we have zero tracking other than it "shipped" which 9/10 is bullshit anyways.

While recently dealing with a shortage I was given this Bulletin# GCUS-9-11561 which reads as follows:
Update - Referral Network Delays
Updated Date: Jul 23, 2021 18:00 ET

Due to carrier constraints and network process delays we continue to experience longer than normal transit times for referral shipments out of our Michigan facilities excluding FedEx. These delays are intermittent and inconsistent, and some shipments may deliver on time. Therefore, we ask Dealers to wait 12 business days before submitting a shortage claim to allow the shipments to make it through the network. We are working diligently to improve this delay and will send out a follow-up communication once we are back to normal transit times.

Dealers may continue to use the same tools provided to SPAC - mygmcca and Parts Workbench - for tracking information. Please note, additional visibility to tracking information on referral shipments is limited and may be inconsistent across part numbers and deliveries.

We apologize for the temporary inconvenience and will let you know when the network is back to normal.
