CDK SOR'S FOR NON FACTORY PARTS

CDK SOR'S FOR NON FACTORY PARTS

Postby torgy123 » Thu Aug 26, 2021 6:08 pm

Does any CDK users use manual SOR's for non factory parts for item's like radios , inst. clusters, or other manufacture / aftermarket parts.
Currently we do not, so we occasionally when those parts arrive the customer does not get notified. I thought that maybe through purchase orders this could be tracked, but we currently do not use the purchase order function in CDK.

If you are doing something could you please explain?

Are you thinking to do an SOR without adding the part number to the system?

Manual SOR will let you create and order with a part number not in your system but when you go to roll into an order it will not let you unless you add the number. At that point it is no better than making an SOR the regular way.

We just add the number to system with an outside purchase source number we have. Doesn't hurt anything to have number added.

One thing you could do is add generic # for things you do a lot of. # Cluster or # Radio etc with .01 cost and just need to manual enter real cost and sell price at the transaction.
Then you will have SOR tracking and notifications etc.
