CDK MyPriceLink Parts Sourcing Issue

CDK MyPriceLink Parts Sourcing Issue

Postby jdpetey » Wed Feb 09, 2022 4:12 am

Quoting a wholesale customer on a fascia today, which I would expect to be in one of the ‘Default’ ‘MyPriceLink’ sources (102,103,104) etc., and while in Invoicing I am prompted for the ‘sale price’. What da?

So I check to see what source this fascia is in. Source 101, which, if one hasn’t gone overboard creating sources, would be the default CDK source for the majority of most GM parts on the CDK Master Tape. MyPriceLink parts defaulting to 102,103 and 104.

I let the Parts Master Tape determine the sourcing based on price tape criteria.
Of course we do have some menu item sources and bulk oil, etc., that get moved.

I have set up the MyPriceLink Sources to essentially match the BS ‘No List’ prices. Pretty much calculates within a cent or two for List and Trade.

However, upon examination, I found several fascia and grille numbers in Source 101, with no list, which is why I was prompted for a sale price. Does anyone know the ‘types’, ‘groups’, etc., that each ‘default’ source either fascia or grille would go to?

I have set up all the sources to address price code and sale type issues in relation to specific circumstances.

My dilemma is whether or not some of these parts have been removed from the MyPriceLink criteria, and therefore should have a List Price? Or, does the Price Tape have an issue with the default sourcing of these parts?

I inherently went in to ‘Batch Change’ and moved the fascia and grilles in 101 to 104 for now.

Go ahead and check for yourself. Go to PM and run a batch change and select group 7.831 or 1.266 and see what source they’re ALL in. Some MyPriceLink and some not.

Just FYI, we only have two body shops that we supply parts to, so we don’t feel the need for another OE BS fee for another program that primarily benefits the larger wholesalers.

Any info regarding errors or changes would be greatly appreciated.

We are having the same issue. Seems to be since the new year started. I wish I knew why, got to love it when they start messing with sources. ie a year or so ago they moved all of the accessories out of 106 and moved them to 107. Tires were moved to 108 and I am sure I am forgetting one. Of course they never made this announcement at all and just leave us to figure it out.

ANYONE ELSE RUN INTO THIS? LOOKS LIKE MOST OF MY BUMPER COVERS AND GRILLES ARE MOVING TO SOURCE 101, INSTEAD OF 102 OR 104.

IT LOOKS LIKE THE PEOPLE SMART ENOUGH TO USE THE SOURCE PRICE CALCULATIONS ARE BEING AFFECTED. IF I HAD TO GUESS CDK FOUND OUT WHAT WE ARE DOING AND ARE TRYING EVERYTHING TO CHARGE US FOR MYPRICE LINK INTEGRATION. UNFORTUNATELY WITH THE BATCH CHANGES YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THIS EVERY F___ING MONTH. IF WE CALL CDK THEY WILL PROBABLY SAY SOMETHING LIKE" GM CHOOSES THE SOURCES"

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THAT THINK OEC IS A BIG WASTE OF MONEY

GM has no list price per say, on function PM you can see the true list price which is price6, just have LIST mirrored from price6 and that should solve your problem.

Any one find anything out about this? I have more and more fascias and grilles moving to my source "101" (engine mechanical) instead of "102" (fascia grill truckload) or "104" (body parts). I know we all could have slightly different sources but i thought this was kind if the way things were across board for cdk.

You can also do this and select M] for ABCD. It works the same for B & W.

B = Collision - Truckload Fascia/Grille and a MyPriceLink Part
M = Collision - Competitive Collision and a MyPriceLink Part
W = Collision - MyPriceLink Part Not Already Identified by the 'B' or 'M' Indicators

I used to do the group/class but I was always afraid I would miss some.

My initial correction was to move the fascia’s and grilles to Source 104, which I have Price Break Escalators calculating ‘List’ and ‘Trade’ pricing. In hindsight, I think I should have moved those to Source 102, which is for ‘Truckload’ fascia and grilles. I will be doing that moving forward.

On a side note, another thing that pissed me off was that there mechanical parts in Source 104 that actually have a ‘List’ price. So we have been selling some of those items at the Price Break prices that inadvertently were lower than List Price. WTF? Not to mention we have a modest matrix on Source 101. For example, part number 25193922 Outlet.

So...if you were to take those mechanical parts and move them to Source 101, which inherently, by default, they would go, when running PMU, they would end up going back to the ‘price tape’ designated source.

I ran an excel report of ‘All GM Parts on File’ and then filtered out the sources to see where everything was going. I filtered out the parts in the ‘MyPriceLink” sources that had a list price, which they said wouldn’t and created a column showing where the escalated source price was less than list and created a source for those parts.

I like things to be as automated as possible when it comes to pricing and this is a deceptive practice that, once again, a workaround needs to be implemented.

The bitch about the whole scenario is that it will continue to occur with the addition of ‘new’ parts that will default to the price tape sourcing.
